A brief history: Tyler was Jason's intern here at FBC Gray during the summer of 2005. We were not married, so Jason was living the high life as a bachelor in his duplex, and Tyler joined in on the fun for those few months. A bond was formed as they lived and worked together, so now we're attached, despite the miles between us.
In all honesty, I actually envy the way Tyler and Jason complement each other as a team. Where Jason is an excellent administrator/organizer/visioneer, Tyler is so skilled with making things happen, getting things done and investing in relationships. They are both great communicators and share tons of ideas and passions about ministry and the purpose of the church, as well as a tremendous and obvious heart for people, specifically youth. The dream team. Having Tyler here with him that summer was awesome for Jason, so it's always bitter sweet for us to have him back... just to have him leave again at the end of his visit.
Never-the-less, we managed to enjoy the time we did have with him here. The boys played way too much Tiger Woods golf on the Wii (although better Tyler than me, for sure). We also saw a pretty decent movie on Saturday night: State of Play. Visited Milledgeville's best Japanese restaurant for lunch on Saturday, which doubled as Tyler's first trip to the city. And of course spent lots of time playing with and entertaining Betsy. Ty taught her to press her lips together and blow, making that lovely pppppsssstttttt noise... he's such a great influence. He actually was really good with her; she flirted with him all weekend, and I hate that we didn't get a picture of the two of them together.
