Spring Break!

There are plenty of things I love about my job. Working with high schoolers. Collaborating with other teachers. Constantly learning new things. Etceteras, etceteras, etceteras. (I had the urge to spell that one out... or allow spell check to do so, seeing as how I've never gone past the etc. before.) However, I do find that one of the grandest, most magnificent, glorious parts of my job is found in one word... VACATION! I am allowed two weeks off every Christmas, one week off for Thanksgiving and another for Easter, random one-day holidays in between and then an extraordinary two months during the summer! How delightful is that?

The week ahead of me holds all sorts of wonderful adventures. Beginning with tonight, we have the Jones County High School prom, which is always fun (as long as I don't allow myself to imagine what they will do afterward). Then tomorrow is Easter Sunday--the day in which we can rejoice and be humbled that our sin and death has been defeated and we have been given life!! Also, we've been invited to eat lunch with some of the most amazing people we know and then we have the rest of the day off to rest and celebrate. My parents are also coming tomorrow evening to spend the night before we all leave for Hilton Head Island on Monday! We will be in Hilton Head from Monday through Friday morning, relaxing, eating delicious food, taking Betsy to see the beach and ocean for the first time, and spending wonderful, quality time together. Friday morning, we leave Hilton Head to travel to Florence to spend some time with the Dorriety family, and then we'll return back to Gray Saturday evening in time to get some rest before church again on Sunday morning. Could you imagine a more excellent way to spend a week off of work? Not I. :)

Needless to say, I'm going to enjoy my next few days to the max!
